On 1 October, 1890 Robert Harris and his sons Robert and Charles published The Wellington Times, Burnie\u2019s first newspaper. It was first published on only Wednesday and Saturday. It is one of the local paper of north west and western Tasmania.<\/p>\n
In 1950\u2019s advocate is the only one newspaper in Australia which use colors in the advertisement. In 2004 The Advocate become the third largest newspaper of rural press, but in 2008 rural press becomes the part of the Fairfax media.<\/p>\n
The Advocate is the only daily newspaper which covers all the areas of North West and west coast of Tasmania and small towns such as Burnie, Smithton, penguin etc. This newspaper is published by Fairfax Media.<\/p>\n
The Advocate newspaper service is one of the richest and the most diversified region, with the market of 106,000 people. The Advocate newspaper reaches over 60,000 people over the age of 14 to North West and west coast of Tasmania. The advocate serves this region from 1 October, 1890.<\/p>\n
