Eric Bana is professional name of Australian actor and comedian Eric Banadinovi\u0107. Eric was born in Melbourne to Croatian father Ivan, who was logistics manager for Caterpillar, Inc. and German mother Eleanor, a hairdresser.<\/p>\n
Eric grew up in Tullamarine, attended Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School. He started mimicking at the age of 6 or 7. He used to mimic parents, neighbors and school fellows. He decided to become an actor after watching Mad Max (1979). In 1991, he started working as a barman and used to be a standup comedian.<\/p>\n
He made his debut in 1993 on Steve Vizard\u2019s talk show Tonight Live and gained attention of producers of Full Frontal, who invited him to become a writer and performer. He did the show for 4 years and in 1994, he became famous with his audience because of his mimicking. He recorded comedy album Out of Bounds in 1994 and hosted his own show named Eric in 1996. In 1997, he received Logie Award for Most Popular Comedy Personality for his show The Eric Bana Show. In the same year, he made his film debut in Australian film The Castle which turned out to be critical and financial success in Australia.<\/p>\n
