NBN Television started operations on 4th<\/sup> March, 1962 in Newcastle and Hunter Valley Region. Its market reaches from Central Coast in the South to Gold Coast in Queensland. NBN\u2019s network is independent and affiliated to Nine Network. NBN unofficially stood for Newcastle Broadcasting Network. It has grown and succeeded to become a leading television network in Australia with consistent high ratings at many stations. The channels are locally produced. They also support communities and local programming with programs being run for kids and communities services.<\/p>\n The Australian Broadcasting Control Board gave license to Newcastle Broadcasting and Television Corporation in 1961 to establish stations in Newcastle and Hunter Valley. By 2000s, NBN became a leading name in Digital Broadcasting. NBN has made a record for producing most number of local programs.<\/p>\n
